1. What browser storage means
Cookies are small values stored by your browser. Local storage, session storage and IndexedDB can also keep service data on your device. This policy covers those technologies as used by EasyRemoveBG Team.
2. Essential sessions and authentication
We use essential session and security cookies to distinguish guest sessions, keep signed-in users authenticated and protect access to images and tasks. Our authentication cookie prefix is easyremovebg; exact names can vary with secure-cookie settings. Sessions are configured for up to seven days and can be renewed when you use the service.
The essential erb_device cookie lasts up to 30 days and helps prevent automated abuse across sessions. It contains a random signed identifier, not your images. Server-side security records use keyed hashes of device identifiers and IP addresses; we do not use browser fingerprinting for this protection.
Blocking essential cookies can prevent processing, sign-in or access to results. Google may use its own cookies when you choose Google sign-in. Its cookies and controls are governed by Google's policies.
3. Task references and local drafts
- Local storage and session storage can hold task and upload references, image checksums and recovery state. These help avoid duplicate submissions and restore work you have already started.
- IndexedDB (easyremovebg-files) can hold local image bytes, batch handoff data and editing drafts. Google sign-in handoff also uses a temporary session-storage reference.
- Local references generally have validity limits of up to 24 hours, with handoff data removed when consumed where applicable. Expiry does not guarantee that all browser-stored bytes disappear immediately. Later cleanup or clearing site data removes remaining local copies.
4. Analytics, advertising and payment storage
We use Plausible at app.pageview.app for public-page visit statistics. This integration does not set analytics cookies or write a persistent analytics identifier to local storage. It sends only public page URLs, allowlisted campaign labels and an external referring site origin; account, image, task and private download information are excluded. The analytics service receives the network information needed to handle the request. Sign-in and My creations pages are not tracked.
Pageview requests respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. The integration also honors an existing plausible_ignore value of true in local storage; it does not create that value itself. You can block app.pageview.app in your browser without disabling background removal.
We do not use advertising cookies. There is no checkout or payment-cookie flow in this version. Hosting and authentication providers still process the technical information needed to deliver and secure their services.
5. Managing or deleting storage
Use your browser's site-data settings to inspect, block or clear cookies, local storage and IndexedDB for EasyRemoveBG. Download results and save any edits you need first. Clearing site data may sign you out, remove unsent files and make task recovery unavailable.
Clearing your browser does not delete server-side files or cancel submitted work. Cloud files expire and are cleaned up under the Privacy Policy. Account deletion is a separate request.
6. Changes and questions
We will update this page when our use of browser storage changes. For questions, contact support@easyremovebg.com.
